Jonathan is a prosecutor for the Public Prosecution Service of Canada (PPSC), and manager of the PPSC Vancouver Provincial Court office. He regularly prosecutes cases involving mid-to-large scale drug trafficking, production, and importation. Additionally, he prosecutes major offenses involving other federal statutes ranging from cross-border smuggling to environmental offences. He has appeared in Provincial, Superior, and Courts of Appeal in several Canadian provinces.
In addition to his litigation work, Jonathan advises police and regulatory agencies about ongoing investigations. He regularly provides advice relating to search and seizure of electronic evidence, evidence continuity, and privilege issues.
He holds a commerce degree from the Sobey School of Business, and graduated law school from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University. Prior to becoming a prosecutor, he was a criminal defense lawyer and civil litigator.
Jonathan regularly provides training to the RCMP, provincial and municipal police agencies, and various federal enforcement agencies, and was an instructor at the Sobey School of Business and Mount Saint Vincent University for undergraduate-level legal aspects of business courses. He is also a member of the International Association of Prosecutors.
